Clara's First Snow

Like many of our friends, we felt we needed to blog about the recent snowfall.

This was Clara's first experience with snow! Mind you, due to a protective mother, I wasn't allowed to set her in the snow and watch her freak out, but we did get a shot of Clara in her bucket in the snow. (It's all about compromise.) She thoroughly enjoyed it, even making a snow angel and snowman. Okay, I made that last sentence up.
Clara is doing quite well. It's been fun to see how much she is growing. Kristin turned to me this morning, after I passed her the bundle of not-quite-yet sleeping child, and commented that she is getting heavy. She's got to be over eleven pounds by now. She has also started developing head control. When we put her up on our shoulder to burp her head starts waving around. She can hold her head upright long enough to get a good look at an area, then it bobs back down to the shoulder or arm in which she is being held. She's eating almost four ounces at each feeding, and slept for five hours straight last night. Mind you, we know that was a fluke, but it is a promise of things to someday come.

Clara even makes snow look inviting. Hope her digestive tract is healed and this is just the first of many 5 hour sleep times. Lots of hugs and kisses to you all, especially Clara.
