So glad we could be here to experience this.

Melting

2:45pm. 92 degrees. No air conditioning. 14th floor apartment.

Death.

Tomorrow: 97 degrees.
The next day: 96 degrees.
And the next, the next, the next.

I don't deal with heat well. Can you tell?

What is UP with these cities that don't believe in air conditioning??

Poopy Potty?

Clara walked up to me this morning and said, "Mama, need go Target. Buy small potty for Tara (she's still mispronouncing her name)."

Huh.

I've been talking with her a bit about using the potty once we get back to our "Utah house" (Clara calls our current apartment our "Seattle house"). I'm a little surprised that these few brief conversations have made such an impact on her. And a little concerned that my time line may not be her time line; I really don't want to deal with a potty training toddler on a long car ride back to Utah in four weeks, but she seems to have a different idea.

But the best part about this? She didn't just ask me to go the store to buy a potty. Nope, she asked specifically for Target. I'm raising my girl up right.

Our Budding Van Gogh

I think I may have created a monster. Yesterday I decided to venture beyond the standard crayons and play-doh and introduce Clara to the wonderful world of markers, paint, and glue. And today we added safety scissors to the mix. I swear, I wish I had thought to hand her some scissors awhile ago; my child who never sits still for more than 30 seconds actually sat for 30 MINUTES cutting up a piece of construction paper. Rock on.

"Take a picture, Mommy. Cheese!"
