Vocalization

While we were in Portland, Kristin's mom was kind enough to lend us one of their cars to use during our stay. It was such a convenience to be able to have a car always at our disposal. We got pretty good at strapping Clara's car seat into the car, as we didn't take the car seat base with us.

On our second or third day, we started to notice a curious occurrence each time we put Clara in the back seat. Rather than sitting quietly, as was her pastime, she would make noises, like she was trying to talk to us or to the colored people hanging from the handle of her car seat. She seems to prefer the blue man over the yellow and green people.

We started looking forward to her talking each time we got into the car. We've noticed that when she can't see us she is most apt to start vocalizing. This made it hard to get quality video of the little one making her sounds, but we managed to piece together a few clips.

Hope you enjoy!

Absolutely adorable. I love when babies start "talking." Sara and her friends teach their babies to do somme basic signing. It is neat that Jacob, who only says "Mama" can sign when he wants more food, when he is full, when he needs some thing. Mom/Sally

Talking babies always remind me of "Peanuts", we probably sound just like that to the babies and so they are just repeating what they hear... you know we probably sound just like that to the Deacons, maybe we should have Clara teach lessons from now on, she's on the same level...
