Nighty-Nighty & Welcome The Dawn
Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Here is your morning update from Labor & Delivery Room 10. The sun is shining behind overcast clouds. Nursing shifts have changed and Kristin's new nurse is an adorable little lady named Abene (Ah-been-nee).
Clara continued to kick the crap out of the monitor last night. Regardless, they got enough of a read to take Kristin off the monitor and let her go to bed. Our lovely nurse, Julie, gave her two Ambien and a charge to get as much sleep as possible. We played a couple of games of Farkel (have I blogged about Farkel yet?) then turned out the lights once Kristin was feeling too foggy to hold the dice. Unfortunately, the Ambien didn't knock Kristin out and she only got about five hours of off-and-on sleep. She woke up and turned on the TV around 4:30am. Nothing says "Keep me occupied" like early morning TV.I was remarkably impressed with my accommodations for the night. They have these couches that turn into beds. Julie brought me some sheets, blankets, and a pillow to make the couch/bed. The pictures below show you the transformation. I didn't get much sleep, but got more than Kristin, so have nothing about which to complain.

Be impressed.
It's now morning, and Kristin has an IV and pitocin dripping into her veins. We're watching some silly countdown on VH1, giving our own running commentary on which are the best videos of 2006. There is NO way that Okay Go's Here We Go Again should have been ranked lower than Paris Hilton's Stars are Blind and some lame attempt at music by Brooke Hogan*. Oh, well. Such is the state of pop culture. What's Left of Me by that nice boy Nick Lachey just came on. Now that is good pop.
Okay, the nurse just came in and told Kristin to lay back down. Clara refuses to be monitored while Kristin is sitting up, so the bed has been lowered and Kristin is no longer sitting up. Sigh. Will update in a bit.
* If you are wondering who Brooke Hogan is, join the club. She's Hulk Hogan's daughter. She jumped on the people-with-no-real-reason-to-record-an-album
bandwagon and recorded and released an album of her own. Ugh.

Today is the day! Clara is coming if she likes it or not!
Nice couch/bed. I can't believe that Clara is going to be here today!
p.s. we love Farkel, too! You have inspired us to bring ours :)
Can't wait to hear the next update! Fingers crossed things are progressing nicely.
Umm, just make sure Clara doesn't come before 8:06 p.m.
Is 8:06 for the extra night in the hospital? I am confused.
